Biggest Decline in US Driving in 66 years!

It's happening. I'm starting to see to see more and more bike riders during my commute. My hometown has just installed bike racks downtown (finally!) and it appears that all over the country people are staying away from their cars. See the report here We, as Americans, still drive a staggering amount but, at least it's now heading in the right direction!

McCain: Drilling offshore is "The right thing for the environment"

Where do they find these guys? Trek Launches "Go By Bike Challenge"

Ok, so this challenge is coming from the 'Man' but, the premise is sound and we all need a nudge once in a while. Please read the whole story here In a related story, Trek has also been testing out a new urban vending machine (below) which allows bike riders to pick up spare parts take care of some basic maintenance and even pick up a healthy snack. I really hope the idea catches on.

'A Large Fella on a Bike'

"Scott Cutshall of Minneapolis went from 501 pounds to 232 in under three years, thanks to a special bike, soup for breakfast, and a lot of determination."
